Flooding
As the above photograph indicates, flooding is a significant natural hazard in our region, and one that is being made worst as the amount of impervious (e.g., paved) land area increases.
Issues
Our community may decide that the plan should address the following issues:
Was the flooding caused by the 25-year storm that occurred in March 2004 a wake-up call? What will the 100-year storm look like?
We need to find out if watershed and flooding issues are important to the community. If so, we need to address those issues in the plan. As the following presentations illustrate, the many other aspects of the plan will be affected by those issues.
