Waimea Park Builders - Waimea District/Regional Park
A committee of volunteers has formed to revive the Waimea Park(s) project first proposed in 1992. For information, contact Mel Macy (960-3053).

Please provide your comments about potential park sites (and any other sites that should be considered) as soon as possible and no later than December 1 if you want them to be included in the consultant's final evaluation of the alternative sites. The draft report was presented at the next public meeting to be held on November 24, from 5 to 7 pm at the Waimea Community Center (the green building in Waimea Park).
Please Take the Survey - you can help the County select a district/regional park site. The deadline for responses has been extended until a new County Director of Parks and Recreation is in place.

Pre-final Draft of South Kohala CDP - the Pre-final Draft CDP contains maps of the Waimea area and recommendations to expand the Lalamilo Farm Lots and preserve a portion of the Waimea Field System (see map on p. 65)
Old Maps of Waimea - these old maps include a soils map of the Lalamilo Farm Lots area, maps showing the extent of the Waimea Field System and many place names
Kauhale 'Oiwi o Pu'ukapu - this Hawaiian Community Learning Center is under development in Waimea; the idea of DHHL contributing nearby land for a park has also been discussed
Waimea Youth Center
Here is information on a proposed Waimea Youth Center that was developed by Series IV 2006/2007 of the Hawai'i Island Uluamua Leadership Series of the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce.
